SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: Logic3 Valve80 iPod Dock

Here’s the rather delightful Valve80 iPod dock from Logic3. It’s expensive, but it sounds absolutely amazing compared to your average dock. In fact, calling it a ‘dock’ is a bit of an insult – it’s a bonafide Hi-Fi amplifier, with two audio inputs and video out. £300 quid though… crumbs… that’s not going to go down well with your bank manager.

Shiny Video Review: Logitech Illuminated and DiNovo Keyboards

Dan and I have been using the keyboards that came with our PCs for a long time, and they were starting to get a bit mucky. Imagine our delight, therefore, when Logitech got on the blower and asked if we fancied taking a look at some of their newest, swankiest keyboard models. Check out the video above to see what we thought.

Shiny Video Review: Advent 4213 Netbook

Zara got her hands on the Advent 4213 netbook the other day, and she liked it a lot. For me though, it seems to be trying to be a full-size laptop, rather than a diminutive netbook. It’s got a 10.2″ screen, a massive hard drive, 1GB of RAM, and it runs Windows XP – three things which I avoided when buying my Aspire One netbook a couple of months ago.

Still, if you’re not the sort of person who wants the full-on Linux-and-SSD netbook experience, then perhaps it’s for you. Check out the video above to see.

SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: E-matic 4GB MP3 Player/Camera

In the video above, Zara takes a look at a camera/MP3 player hybrid device. It’s a bit of a strange combination, especially as there’s no mobile phone in there anywhere, but considering the specs of the little thing, it’s remarkably cheap for what you’re getting.

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available in the UK yet. Ah well – next Christmas perhaps.

VIDEO: Green Gloat / Green Guilt with Duncan Geere (that's me).

Abi over at our sister site Hippyshopper has been running a feature lately where she interviews the inhabitants of Shiny Towers on their ‘green’ness. How planet-friendly they are. Yesterday, it was my turn.

I like to think that I’m quite a good boy, ecologically speaking. I re-use shopping bags, and take public transport everywhere. There’s a big bad monster, however, lurking in my carbon footprint. Watch the video above to find out what it is.

If you’re into sustainability, and living in harmony with our environment, then go read Hippyshopper. Abi will sort you right out – she’s greener than an RGB display minus a blue screen of death and a red ring of death.

SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: Asus Bamboo U6V

I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try out Asus’s new recycled, recyclable laptop over the last few days. I was expecting considerably less of it than it delivered, but in reality it’s a solid workhorse laptop, with decent specs and good build quality. If you’ve got the cash, then I recommend it, though it is a little on the expensive side.

SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: BlackBerry Flip 8220

Here’s Susi’s take on the BlackBerry Flip. On the one hand, it has Wi-Fi and 3.5mm headphone jack. On the other, however, it has just a 2 megapixel camera. Oh, and it’s a flip phone. Which was cool sometime around 1998. For more details, check out Susi’s video above.
