Shiny Video Preview: Nikon Coolpix S60
This is the Nikon Coolpix S60, which Zara is testing out in the video above. It’s got a fantastic, huge, 3.5″ touchscreen. Is it wonderful, or is it annoying to use? There’s only one way to find out – watch the video. Would you want to use a touchscreen on a camera? Are you as big a fan of the word “smudgefest” as I am? Let us know in the comments.

Shiny Video Preview: TVonics MFR 300
In this video, Dan gets his hands on a tiny tiny digital TV reciever “designed for people who don’t want big freeview boxes”. It’s got very simple, very small design, with just enough space to plug in the appropriate cables. Decent UI too. But don’t take my word for it, watch the video and take Dan’s. It’s £60, and it’s available now.

Shiny Video Preview: LG Renoir KC910
Here’s another 8 megapixel cameraphone in this (rather pink) video from Zara. We covered it in its KC910 incarnation here. The Renoir can record video at 120fps, which is rather mighty, considering it’s a phone. It’s a touchscreen, and comes with GPS. Very nice, indeed.

VIDEO: Energy & Efficiency, episode 1
With rocketing energy prices and the pressure to be “green” in everything you do, I thought it’d be fun – and hopefully educational – to start a series of videos looking at ways we can all be more energy efficient around our homes and offices.
To kick thinks off, I take a look as the massive (white) elephant in the room – the always-on electricity sponge that is the household refrigerator. Do we really need access to cold cheese 24 hours a day? Or is it just a conspiracy by the electricity companies to keep their shareholders happy?
I hereby declare that next week is National Turn Your Fridge Off…
Shiny Video Review: Sony Ericsson W980i
In the above video, Lucy gets her hands on the rather-pretty Sony Ericsson W980i. It’s got decent music specs, decent camera specs and a nice interface. It doesn’t, of course, have a 3.5″ jack, because Sony want you to buy their expensive headphones, but it does come with a big-ass speaker on it – perfect for annoying otherwise-pleasant people on the bus.
The Sony Ericsson W980i is out now, and price will depend on contract.

Shiny Video Review: ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2
We don’t do PC component reviews very often on Tech Digest because there are websites that specialize in that subject in far more technical detail than we could. So I’m not going to talk technical detail and specifications here. Instead, I thought it might be nice to give you a more qualitative idea of what it’d be like if you were to spend £370 just on a graphics card.
Shiny Video Review: Skypephone S2
This is the Skypephone S2, which we covered more extensively here. I thought you’d appreciate my thoughts after using it for a month or so as a secondary phone. Its dongle functionality sustained us through an Apple press conference with no WiFi and two weeks of no internet, having just moved into a new flat.
Shiny Video Review: Nokia 6210 Navigator
If you drive a lot, you’ll know the value of a sat nav. That constant nagging voice urging to you bear left. Bit of a problem in pedestrianised areas, though – or when you leave the safety of the car. Nokia have spotted that gap, and this is their Navigator phone, which comes with a big button to activate the GPS…
