Asus P552w smartphone not just another variation of the Eee PC
Another day, another Asus product announcement – but here’s a surprise: The smart phone it has announced isn’t branded as part of the Eee range, despite there being scope for calling it the Eee-T as you can use it to “phone home”.
The Asus P552w looks pretty nice though – it’s an entirely touch screen device, as seems to be the trend these days and apparently boasts a new navigation system called “Glide” – which looking at the screenshot on the photo, it looks to me that it may act a bit like iPod coverflow…
Get Orange Broadband, and get a free eeePC 900 16GB
I’m getting really confused now by the plethora of eeePC model numbers. Turns out the 900 16GB is a version of the hugely popular netbook which sits inbetween the 900 and the 901. It doesn’t have the lovely Atom processor, but it does pack more storage than the 900 – an unsurprising 16GB. No word as to whether you get the Linux or the Windows model…
Asus announce "brown" Eee PC
Another day, another new ultra-portable laptop from Asus, and another one of the 23 secret Eee models revealed. Today’s is one of the most high-end – the S101 which has been described as an “Ultimate” Eee PC.
It’s pretty high-end stuff for an Asus so there’s suggestions that it won’t actually carry the Eee PC branding as obviously ‘Eee’ makes one think of cheap netbooks and, er, monitors and not high-end luxury…
Asus Eee 900A announced. The "A" stands for "[yet] another one"
Since Asus realised that its Eee line of tiny “netbook” laptops are wildly successful, it has been slapping an ‘Eee’ badge on to everything that’s compatible with electricity – from monitors, to desktop PCs, and apparently up to 23 different versions of the original Eee PC. The latest in this long line of brand dilution looks set to be the Eee PC 900A…
It's an Eee PC world: 23 models on the way
According to Engadget Chinese, ASUS is planning to launch 23 different models of Eee PC before they’re done, including the “extreme slim and light” S101 and S91 models.
“Ultimate” I get, but the rest sounds far too much like fashion categories for me: “PRO Fashion” and “Smart Casual”…
ASUS launches LS221H "world's slimmest" 22-inch monitor
Here we go with the thinness wars again, with ASUS claiming that its new LS221H 22-inch monitor is the world’s slimmest, at just 45mm depth.
The monitor features leather, a glossy black chassis, and diamond-cut corners. I’m not sure I’d have put leather on a monitor, but if you enjoy the smell you’ll certainly notice it as it heats up!…
Asus readying 30GB Eee PC 900
Rumours from China suggest that Asus is preparing to release a new model of Eee PC 900, this one sporting a 30GB hard drive.
Asus Eee PC 904 coming but without Atom processor
Asus has announced its Eee PC 904 which will sport a larger keyboard but doesn’t contain Intel’s Atom processor. Instead, it has a 900MHz Celeron M processor, 8.9 inch display, 1GB of RAM, 80GB hard drive, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, three USB ports, VGA output, and memory card reader.
As its full name suggests, the 904HD XP will come loaded with Windows XP…
More tidbits surrounding Asus Eee line: 901, 904, 1000
Following Monday’s rumours surrounding the Eee PC line, more details have emerged from a source at Asus.
Trusted Reviews suggests that it has confirmed details of Eee PC 904 with Asus, though it still appears to be relying on a “source” inside the company…
