Pearl Jam blast Lollapalooza webcast "censorship"
There’s a row rumbling over in the US, where Pearl Jam recently headlined the Lollapalooza festival, which was webcast by telco AT&T on its Blue Room site. The band are claiming their performance was censored – specifically the bits where they changed their lyrics to snipe at George Bush.

This week's hottest iPhone stories: YouTube on iPhone, better battery life, Bluetooth headsets, Google applications, Opera Mini browser, iPhone cases
There’s now less than one week to go until the iPhone launches in the US, and there’s only so much hype that can be reported. Much of the news has been focused on the latest tidbits of information that Apple has chosen to reveal, or has been ‘leaked’ to the press.
The big news, features wise, is that YouTube will be on the iPhone, starting with 10,000 videos converted to the iPhone-friendly H.264 format, and with the entire catalogue converted by the autumn.
Apple has updated its battery life claims – now you’ll get up to 8 hours of talk time. Impressive, if true.
Finally, iPhone US launch date announced: Friday 29th June
Those who haven’t been attending the iPhone pre-launch party (and why not? Don’t tell me you don’t care) may not be aware quite how many rumours have been surrounding the date that Apple’s first smartphone will launch in the US.
While Apple rumours are nothing unusual, iPhone hype has been so strong that it seems as if every day in June has had a believable reason attached for Apple dropping the iPhone into AT&T stores.
Admittedly, journalist’s cousins overhearing junior AT&T staff talking about a release date isn’t hugely confidence building, but it hasn’t stopped the stories being published.
Anyway, this is just a long-winded way of reiterating what the title of this article has already made perfectly clear: Apple has officially announced the day that the iPhone will be available to buy in the States.
Friday 29th June.
Steve Jobs: "Don't buy iPhone from an Apple Store"
What’s that? Surely Apple’s head honcho wouldn’t try and put people off buying the iPhone from the company’s own shops? But it’s true according to blogger Arianna Huffington, who had a chat with Steve earlier this week.
