Bluetrek Metal bluetooth headset: for those too lazy to lift their hand to their ear

It looks as though we may be approaching the moment the rest of history has been counting down to quicker than we thought: the time when it is acceptable – maybe even considered normal – to wear a bluetooth headset.

Only a few years ago the headsets were the reserve of only slimy sales reps and Nathan Barley types, and looked like some sort of Borg ear infection, but times have changed, and Bluetrek has come up with the Bluetrek Metal, which it is calling the “world’s thinnest bluetooth headset”, at only 4.2mm thick, and weighing only 5.5g….

Santok releases SP500 Bluetooth speakerphone

Santok has announced the availability of its SP500 Bluetooth speakerphone, claiming it to be the first visor-mounted unit to feature Caller ID that’s automatically synchronised with the contacts list in the phone it is being used with,

It features Digital Signal Processing and automatic echo cancellation, using a technique similar to that found on high-end noise-cancelling headphones…

Facebook app Cityware using Bluetooth to spy on people without their consent

Research firm Cityware has hooked up thousands of Bluetooth scanners around the world and is using these to monitor how people move around the place – and dumping the data on Facebook.

The only problem is no one asked for the permission of some of the the scanees – so anyone with their phone’s Bluetooth powers enabled risks having their movements tracked by the freely-available Cityware…
