O2 may or may not be selling 16GB iPhone, depending on when you visit their website
Yesterday, O2’s web site claimed that it had no iPhones left in stock — not even the heftily-priced 16GB model.
Today, it seems, the 16GB is still available, even though “officially” it isn’t.
According to PC Advisor, O2 has “confirmed reports that the iPhone is not currently available anywhere in the UK” — that’ll be everywhere except the Apple Store, presumably, who are still merrily selling 8GB and 16GB iPhones with next-day delivery…
iPhone drought worsens – Carphone Warehouse has now completely run out
Following an extremely generous £100 price cut, 8GB iPhones have been absolutely flying off the shelves of O2 and the Carphone Warehouse. In fact the scheme has been so successful that Carphone Warehouse doesn’t have a single one left…
Price cuts create 8GB iPhone shortage, 16GB cuts to follow?
Last week’s decision to lop a hundred quid off the price of an 8GB iPhone had, unsurprisingly, a pretty good effect on sales. In fact, it has been so good that O2 and Carphone Warehouse have reportedly sold out of the handsets in most of their major outlets…
Not ISPs' job to police the Internet, says CW's Charles Dunstone
Following last week’s news that Virgin Media may be the first ISP to police their customers in a bid to crack down on illegal downloaders, the chief executive of the Carphone Warehouse, Charles Dunstone, has said that it’s not an Internet Service Provider’s job to police the Internet…
Nokia N96 confirmed for August release date via Carphone Warehouse leak
Confirmation has arrived! The N96 from Nokia will be swinging our way in August, according to the Carphone Warehouse by a sneaky little leak, no doubt propelling thousands of frantic customers towards their site in the hopes of securing their upgrade from the N95.
No pricing details, but as we already knew, the HSDPA and Wi-Fi enabled handset will have a five-megapixel camera, 16GB…
All-knowing ISPs may start advertising to you based on how you surf
It would be naïve to think that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) doesn’t hold an incredible amount of information about you. Unless you’re incredibly stealthy / geeky, they have access to every web site you view, every email message you send, every instant messaging conversation you hold… well I could go on, but you get the idea.
Now, a formula: ISP with a lot of personal information about you + ISP wanting to make more money = showing you targeted advertising while you use the Internet.
In reality, some ISPs have probably already been sharing bits of your data with other companies, but now a company called Phorm wants to insert relevant ads as you surf.
BBC Watchdog goes undercover to investigate iPhone insurance misinformation
It's rather unfair that the iPhone has become caught up in the latest controversy to hit the Carphone Warehouse, but, after complaints from a number of customers, investigators from the BBC's Watchdog programme have gone undercover to find out whether…
Rumours detail how just 26,500 iPhones have been activated in UK, but is this accurate?
O2 and Apple are still being tight-lipped about the number of iPhone sales in the UK, but even more so, about how many activations they’ve had on the network.
Good thing The Register is here to blab to the internets however, about the gossip they wangled from ‘reliable channel sources’, that O2 has activated just 26,500 of the iBricks since it launched two weeks ago.
Either most people are unlocking them, to work…

Not sick of iPhone reviews yet, and want to read about my initial impressions after my first (and only) hour with Apple's wonder phone? Then head over to iPhonic for The one hour iPhone review (don't worry, it shouldn't…
Top 5 Gadget Sparklers for Bonfire Night
Remember, remember the 5th of the November – that's how the saying goes. Now Guy Fawkes, there was a man who knew a thing or too about making a statement. If only he'd have done it with his gadgets though and shown off his status with some bling, rather than trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
So, as it's Firework Night today, what better way to mark it than with five top sparklers from the techno-world. Unfortunately, not all of them can be waved around in the air and they don't make pretty colours in the smoke, but with gold and crystals on them, each one definitely costs more than a penny for the guy…
