Robot Arm – for your own mini car plant
Anyone who doesn’t want a robot arm is a liar. We’ve all pretended to move like one when no one’s looking and now you can get somewhere near the real deal with this remote control version.
The arm features five servos, can lift up to 100g…
iLava – a Lava Lamp on your iPhone
I remember a Christmas about 10 years ago when everyone got a lava lamp. I got one. It was ace – well for about two years. Then, I should imagine, a second hand boom took place in charity shops across the country. So, what with their original hey day in the 70s, that’ll make the iLava iPhone app the fourth incarnation…
Broto aeroponics pot – an alternative way to grow "your favourite plant"
If hydroponics is growing plants in a liquid of controlled PH and nutrient levels without the use of soil, well aeroponics does the same but without the use of the liquid. Instead, a fine mist is sprayed on your greenary under the warming glow of LED lights such as in this Broto future …
Foxit eSlick – the cheaper, lighter and not quite so good eBook reader. Have I sold it?
eBook readers tend to divide opinion and divide it in a most disproportionate way. I like them but I think I’m in the minority. Fortunately, so does Foxit which is why they’re bringing out the Foxit eSlick – not the best name and perhaps not the best product either.
The main downfall of the device is that it only supports pdf and txt files…
LG's sunlight screen LCD – 25% less power consumption, 4x more laptop theft
LG has gone and been a bit of a little genius today by successfuly devleoping the kind of tech that makes one stand up and applaud heartily – but jolly well politely – and say, “Bravo, yes, bravo!”

SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: the 8-megapixel LG KC780
I wasn’t overly impressed by the 8-megapixel LG KC780. It was given a very quiet release as the less attractive sibling of the touchscreen Renoir and for a fairly good reason.
Someone on YouTube asked me some very valid questions about other features of the phone. So, if you want a little more info, this is what I said…
20-unit Klipsch RF-62 home cinema speaker system touches down this side of the Pond
Probably not a Christmas present but perhaps a treat for yourself after you’ve liquidated all the rubbish everyone else got you on eBay is the range of home cinema/hi-fi speakers from American non-Dutch audio specialist Klipsch.
The RF-62 sytsem is an “entry level” product as far as enthusiasts are concerned…
The first single digit mobile tariff in Britain – £9/month from 3
They’re practically giving ’em away! Mobile phones are going slightly nuts in the UK. First we experience a clutch of cheap and cheerful handsets lobbed out into the wild for less than a fiver, now 3 announces Britain’s first single digit tariff – £9 per month.
It’s actually better value than the previous PAYG offers…
Geek Chic: Halo messenger bag & the Space Invaders guitar strap
It’s a day for apparel at one of my favourite blogs. I couldn’t really decide whether I was going to write about the Halo 3 messenger bag or the Space Invaders embroidered guitar strap, so I thought what the hell, I’ll do ’em both…
