EA's 'Family Play' for Wii: making games more accessible, or dangerous dumbing down?
Have you played the last Madden NFL game on Wii? It’s pretty tough, especially if you’re flummoxed by the ins and outs of American Football. At least, that’s my excuse for the 51-point loss I suffered in my first game. On easy level.

EA meets Endemol for virtual world, while Lonelygirl15 gets a Bebo spin-off
The games industry has its sights trained on Second Life, that’s for sure. After Sony announced its own virtual world for PS3, called Home, now Electronic Arts has teamed up with TV producer Endemol for a virtual world called Virtual Me, which will let you create an avatar and then compete in Big Brother, Deal Or No Deal and other virtual shows.
Wii outselling PS3 in the UK, with publishers scrambling to adapt
According to leaked figures from Chart Track, 17,000 PS3s were sold in the UK last week, compared to 25,000 Wiis (and that’s with limited stock on the shelves for the latter). On the surface, its not great news for Sony’s console, although it’s still too early to claim it’s lost the next-gen console war.
Wii fights back as PS3 launches
It’s all about PlayStation 3 today, as far as news goes. Yet despite the big splash being made by the launch of Sony’s console, life hasn’t stopped for its next-gen rivals.
