Japan gets three new Eee PC colours – 4G XP model now comes in pink, green and blue
Of course, it’s not just “pink,” “green” and “blue”, though. That would be boring. That would be too easy, too predictable. They need SPECIAL NAMES! The new Japanese XP-packing Eee comes in “Sky Blue,” “Rush Green” and “Brush Pink.”
Here is the Sky Blue variant. It’s a little flash of summer to brighten up your afternoon. I have drawn in the Sun myself, for extra summer realism.
Sky Blue we understand. It’s blue. Like the sky is occasionally. Rush Green we also sort of understand, as, presumably, Asus means it’s as green as some rushes.
But Brush Pink? The phrase “as pink as a brush” doesn’t ring any bells…
Asus milking its little white cow – Eee PC accessories flood in
Asus has just announced a whole pile of Eee PC upgrades at CeBIT 2008, proving the law that successful thing = masses of add-ons.
Including, the Eee PC Ai Guru U1 VoIP phone, the Eee PC Eee AP 802.11b/g wireless access point, the Eee PC 3.5G HSDPA Card so you can get hammered by roaming fees wherever you may be in the world, and the the Eee PC DVD-RW drive for when you’ve filled the little solid-state hard drive to bursting…
Brando claims their portable DVD drive is perfect for Eee PC or MacBook Air. O RLY?
Either something’s been lost in translation between Hong Kong and the Western world, or Brando’s Windows-only external DVD drive can really work on Apple’s MacBook Air, and ASUS’ Eee Pc as they’re claiming.
Yes, I am as confused as you are.
At $78, it won’t…
Stephen Fry loves his Eee PC – and hates Microsoft
We already knew he was well up on the mobile phone scene, but now it turns out Stephen Fry is also loving his Eee PC at the moment too.
Writing with his customary enthusiasm, Fry’s latest Guardian column has him analysing the pocket-sized wonder-laptop in immense detail – and slagging off Microsoft’s Windows as “expensive, clumsy, costly, ugly, pricey” while he raves about Eee PC’s awesome little Linux build…
Asustek announces plans for more Eee products: desktop PC, monitor, TV
Surely fuelled by the phenomenal success of the Eee PC, Asustek has announced that it is planning to launch an extended family of “Eee” products, including a desktop PC, PC and monitor in one, and a TV. Unsurprisingly, the products’ main selling point will be low cost.
The E-DT will be a desktop PC sold without a monitor, initially containing an Intel Celeron processor, with subsequent versions adopting Intel’s Shelton’08 platform with Diamondville processors and the 945GC chipset. It’s expected to launch in April or May this year, with an initial price estimate of between $200 and $300, but with hopes that it’ll soon be sub-$200.
Rumour: Next-gen Asus Eee PC to be touchscreen
It’s all about MacBook Air for the geekarati this week, but Asus has a plan to win some attention back to its dinky Eee PC range. It seems the next-generation version of the laptop will have a touchscreen.
CES 2008 LEFTOVERS: An apology regarding our failure to mention the new 8" and 8.9" Eee PCs
We really ought to have done something about this, what with the blog liking Eee PC so much and mentioning Eee PC so often we might as well just go and change that masthead to a big photo of us all kissing an Eee PC and start calling the site “Eee PC News” or “Eee PC Daily Digest.”
Anyway. We didn’t mention the two new Eee PC models because they weren’t actually at CES in a physical new-plastic-smell sense – but Asus did confirm their existence in a press conference with US mobile company Sprint.
Eee PC's TOP SECRET bonus ability – gaming
Eee PC can bravely run Half-Life 2 (at 10fps, mind) with even World of Warcraft now added to the growing list of PC games hardcore Eee fans have managed to get working on the pocket laptop.

2007 in Review No. 6: Asus Eee PC storms the market
Part of our series of festive posts looking back at the key happenings in 2007… Who would have thought that a £219 laptop would have been THE hard-to-find gadget for Christmas 2007? Apart from the Wii, of course (I’ll get to that in another post). Asus has been shovelling Eee PCs onto the shelves as fast as it can, but they’re being snapped up just as fast.
