Canon EOS 50D DSLR: it's official, and it's looking good

The late bank holiday has done Canon some good, for it’s now officially released details of the new EOS 50D, following last week’s faux pas.

So, to business. The 50D features a newly-designed CMOS sensor delivering a beefy 15.1 megapixels, and promising crisp, ultra-detailed, low-noise images as a result.

Most features you’d expect from a Canon DSLR are here, including a range of auto-focus and metering modes, 30-1/8000 second shutter speed, various white balance settings, 15 shooting modes including fully automatic, creative auto, and fully manual, and ISO from 100-3200, expandable to 12800…

Canon impresses with today's announcement, the EOS 450D Digital SLR

canon-450d.jpgI’m so thankful right now I didn’t end up buying a 400D D-SLR from Canon when I was out in the States last week, as not only would my bank manager have a few choice words to say to me, but today they just announced the upgrade, the long-awaited 450D.

With a tidy 12.2-megapixels, this Digital SLR has an EOS Integrated Cleaning System, 3.0″ LCD with Live View mode, a new 9-point AF system, plus a DIGIC III image processor and fully redesigned menu system. Could be dangerous.
