Top 100 Christmas Presents 2008: 90 to 86
The countdown to Christmas continues as the UK gets a load of snow dumped on it over the weekend. I say ‘dumped’, but I only saw snow very briefly when I woke up at 8am on Saturday and peeked out the window. By the time I actually got up at 11, there wasn’t any sign of snow at all. Just grim rain.
Still, rain’s not all that bad. Especially if you’ve got a weatherproof iPod dock lying around. Or a ridable Triceratops. Both are in today’s list, but let’s start with the dock. Click through to the main post to begin.

Do your Christmas shopping on a budget with Local Bargain Finder
Ignore the rather utilitarian design on localbargainfinder.co.uk – what’s behind the site is surprisingly powerful. It’s a set of custom eBay searches that allow you to find auctions near your geographical location, as well as check for negative feedback on bidders and check commonly misspelled variants of your search items.
The service is designed mainly for big bulky stuff, like fridges, etc, that are a pain to ship across the country, but there’s plenty of money-saving application here for Christmas, too. I can tell you right now that someone I know might be getting a Retro TV stand (pictured) or a Silver Ford Focus bonnet in their stocking this year. It’s amazing how much stuff is listed as ‘Pickup only’. If you find any bargains, don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments.

GALLERY: Top Five Bond Gadgets
So the new 007 film, Quantum of Solace, is out tomorrow, but being a Daniel Craig film, it's a long way away from the glory days of Roger Moore's "gadgets and girls" Bond. In honour of the old times, therefore, here's a gallery of the best Bond gadgets of all time…
TD Tips: Winter Gadgets
Gosh, did you get snow last night? We did. A veritable blizzard of the stuff. In London, too – a “heat island”. It got me thinking – we don’t get a lot of winter gadgets. Tonnes of summer ones, tonnes of Christmas ones, but no winter gadgets.
I sent the Tech Digest team hunting far and wide for the gadgets most useful when the nights draw in, but Dan got lost in the process, and has somehow ended up in the southern hemisphere, so I’m afraid there’s no gadget from him…
GMails adds gadgets for Calendar and Documents
Just a quick one, this, but enormously useful. Google has added gadgets to GMail that allow you to view your calendar and your documents in little boxes to the left of your window. If you’re anything like me, then you have your Gmail window open at all times, so this is an enormously useful addition to the web app. To turn them on, go to the “labs” section, by clicking the volumetric flask in the top right…
Minox DigitalSpyCam – neither surreptitious, nor sneaky
Pictured to the right is the Minox DigitalSpyCam. It’s small, but that’s pretty much the only thing going in its favour. It’s just 3.2 megapixel, meaning that your phone can probably take better photos. It comes with a flash, but that’s even bigger than the camera, so although it’s still portable, it’s not exactly handy…
Top 10 Tuesday: Blurry Spy Shots of Gadgets
The art of the tech spy shot is a sophisticated one. There are a few rules that must be followed. Firstly, the product must be unreleased. Secondly, the product must be eagerly anticipated by at least a few people. Thirdly, and most importantly, when you take the shot, you have to shake your arm around as much as you possibly can, so that no-one can remotely see what's going on…
