MTV announce 6 million Rock Band songs sold, PAL regions look on stony-faced
MTV have shifted an impressive 6 million Rock Band songs, doubling the units moved as of January. Gamers can currently purchase from a library of 70 tracks to use within the game, but a software update later this week will mean they don’t have to get on to PSN or Xbox Live Marketplace to do it.
First pic of the Nintendo DS Guitar Hero peripheral, plus video!
Last September, the design manager for Vicarious Visions, Adrian Earle, blabbed about Guitar Hero for the Nintendo DS having an exciting new peripheral, to rawk out to all the Bon Jovi tracks the game will no doubt contain.
Several months later, and we have an official photo of the peripheral, thanks to the German magazine N-Zone.de. Instead of holding the DS in the normal manner, it’s held sideways, like you would when playing Brain Training, allowing…

Kiddie version of Guitar Hero: Tomy's Guitar Rockstar toy
Kids getting jealous of you not letting them play Guitar Hero II or the Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker? I suggest you lock them in their bedrooms until March, when this Guitar Rockstar from Tomy is released, then let them run wild with the rockin’ riffs.
Spied at the London Toy Fair today…

Play Guitar Hero online for free with "Super Crazy Guitar Maniac 2"
OK, now here’s a very annoying thing. Guitar Hero isn’t the best pressing buttons to music game there’s ever been by a long shot.
That would be FreQuency, as spelled out in superb detail by Chris over on our PlayStation blog PSPSPS.tv. FreQuency was made by the Guitar Hero people, only about five years ago when no one cared and when pressing buttons to music in your house wasn’t considered particularly cool…
Two men evicted over 'Rock Band' playing sessions
It’s the new most annoying thing – neighbours who are really into Guitar Hero and its various clones and spin-offs, and keep organising parties where you have the pleasure of hearing the same song, played over and over again, all night, with the odd jarring “BINK” every time someone misses a note.
If you have a Guitar Hero-playing neighbour, here’s some happy revenge news – two American men have been evicted from their flat for playing too much of the play-along music game Rock Band at night. Sweet, sweet justice. Here’s hoping they fall into drug addiction and prostitution as payback for making their poor neighbours suffer.
