I take back those insults aimed at Universal yesterday, Heroes season 1 & 2 Blu-ray announced
Need another reason to justify that expensive Blu-ray player? Universal, who I reported yesterday had announced this year’s Blu-ray releases, will be launching both the first and second series of Heroes on August 26th.
Last year the first season was on HD DVD which obsessives such as myself had to import from the US in order to watch, but up until now, there hadn’t been any announcement regarding the second series, or the move to Blu-ray for both of them. The August launch date will be global supposedly,…
Shiny Tech TV: What do Londoners think of Phorm?
In this week’s video, Georgia and Susi find out what Londoners think about Phorm and compare the new Sony Walkman with the Apple iPod Touch…
'Geek My Car' potential new TV show, with nerdtastic CD-ROM drive for car stereo leading the way
I might just marry this automobile-owner. When faced with a broken car stereo system, what did he do? He only went and popped in a CD-ROM drive from a PC, and lined it with a green kitchen sponge, to shock-proof it. Please tell me his side skirts are made from keyboards, and headlights from blue LED power button lights!…
Universal makes HD DVD fanboys' blood boil with upcoming Blu-ray releases
Those traitors over at Universal have finally picked their dignity up off the floor and announced their first releases for the Blu-ray format, after deciding mid-February to change exclusivity from the defunct HD DVD to Blu-ray.
The first film to receive the Blu-ray treatment in July is ‘Doomsday’, followed by ‘The Incredible Hulk’, ‘Wanted’, ‘Hellboy II: The Golden Army’,…
Anti-Port gamers, be warned! Paper Mario possibly ported to Nintendo DS in July!
This is exciting! Someone over at NeoGAF has claimed that Paper Mario is going to be either ported or remade for the DS in July.
It’s not entirely unbelievable either, with the N64 original selling superbly well on the Wii since it got added to the Virtual Console shelves (since release, it’s been in the US top 20 most popular downloads list), and even the remake, Super Paper Mario, for the Wii proving popular, especially in Japan.
The platform RPG-style game might…
First look at the Eee PC 900 running Windows XP
The first hands-on video review has been uploaded to YouTube, with the Hong Kong based PC Market gang showing off just what the Eee PC 900 offers.
They put the Eee onto the catwalk and boy, can it strut. It plays various movie files with ease, browsing the net seems to be uncomplicated, and as for hardware…
I Want One Of Those offering bubble wrap keyring on pre-order, hurry and get one!
This is the third time I’ve written about Bandai’s Mugen Puchi Puchi keyring, or ‘bubble wrap’ keyring, since September – you could say I’m obsessed with this stuff.
Replicating the experience of popping bubble wrap bubbles, the £7.95 keyring has landed over at I Want One Of Those, on pre-order. And yep, the English version still contains that brilliant ‘easter egg’ feature, with every hundredth pop…
Microsoft gloats over Xbox 360 sales doubling since price slash…
…Which is bad news for us, having to put up with all these young whippersnappers yelling ‘noob!’ at us on Xbox Live constantly.
It may not be Christmas yet, but it looks like Microsoft’s price-cut of the Xbox 360 back in March lured in an awful lot of parents with cash to burn, as sales have doubled in Europe since then.
It’s to be expected, and was always tipped by punters as a canny move on Microsoft’s part, lowering the price but raising the sales. A press release circulated this morning from the big M claims that it’s now the ‘number one’ console manufacturer…
Japanese Club Nintendo members make us green with envy over their Super Famicom controllers
Oh man! This is yet another reason to rack up in our massive list of Why We Should Move To Japan.
The Japanese members of Club Nintendo are getting a little treat this month, SNES (or Super Famicom) controllers! It’s for recreating those nostalgic moments when playing Virtual Console games like Street Fighter II and…
Will the Nokia Tube handset be the saviour of mobile TV?
Over at the Nokia-obsessed blog NokNok, a very valid point has been raised. We’ve all been banging on about the recently-announced-but-still-unannounced Tube handset, but have never once pondered on the significance of the name.
At a recent press conference in Helsinki, their Head of Internet Services, Niklas Savander, spoke about mobile TV, claiming “it’s all a bit in turmoil”, and that Nokia “have seen that there are multiple segments who are not interested in the broadcasting, but rather…
