Only for the obsessed: round-up of the worldwide Halo 3 on Xbox 360 video game launches
Curse living in the UK! As if not having peanut butter M&Ms, GAP Sweatshirts and more TV channels than you can poke a stick at isn’t enough, the US also got their hands on Halo 3 a full day ahead of us. And it’s not just the Yanks we’re sending virtual envious glares at, it’s also the suntanned Kiwis and Aussies who are crossed off our Christmas card lists too. Bah humbug.
Not that us folk living in the UK and Europe have that much longer to wait, as the hugely-anticipated Game Of The Year is dropping into town tonight, with 1,000 stores across the UK extending their opening hours for the hordes of sweaty gamers expected. Of course, some of you may already have finished the last chapter in the trilogy by Bungie, as both Tesco and Argos somehow ‘accidentally’ managed to sell copies before the launch date. “Oh, sorry, mister, a unicorn ran into the store, grabbed several copies from the box, and placed them on the shelf, I didn’t know what to do!”
Let’s take a look at some of the carnage Halo 3 fanboys have wreaked across stores in the US, Australia and New Zealand in the last 12 hours or so…

Is the UK-only Apple press conference next Tuesday about the iPhone launch here?
Very excited I was, to walk into work this morning and discover an email from Apple sitting in my Outlook account. There’s nothing better, unless it’s correspondence from my dear friends in Nigeria informing me of the amazing news that I’ve inherited millions of dollars from them. Good times, good times.
Speculation is brewing in our office as to just what Apple are hinting at with their email, with them inviting us to a special UK-only press conference at their store on Regent Street next Tuesday….
Twentyfour:London bar and nightclub is the most technologically-advanced yet
The launch of a new bar in London has got the whole of Shiny Towers in a tizz, not just because it’s literally down the road from our offices and we’re renowned cocktail-supping gals, but because it promises to be not just London’s most technologically-advanced bar, but possibly the world’s too.
It’s reportedly the first bar in the world with a fully-interactive interior, where customers can control projected images on every wall, choosing between ‘dot matrix sci-fi chic, crashing sea surroundings, Californian desert scenery’, or even your own images and videos. If you fancy getting even more involved with the interior decoration, you can play with the interactive virtual Koi Carp, or dance and watch your thermal shadows on the walls replicating every shape being thrown…
Wax Master Chief invading London
Halo 3’s Master Chief will be storming London this year, although he won’t be particularly terrifying due to being made out of wax and requiring wheelchair assistance to get up stairs.
The wax model is 7′ 2″ tall, which we can only presume is meant to be life sized…
