Two MSI X-Slim laptops announced
These little Apple-aping beauties are the X340 and X600, from MSI. They’re part of the X-Slim range, which also includes the X320, which we spotted at CES.
The smaller X340 has a 13.4″ screen, with the X600 going up to a more standard 15.6″. They both offer HDMI-out as well as VGA and pack Centrino 2 processors. The X340 is suggested to cost somewhere between $699 and $999, which is a bit like saying London is between Spain and Scotland.
No release date, or UK prices yet. Shame, because these do look rather nice, even if they’re a tad on the derivative side.

Dell to launch 'Adamo' MacBook Air competitor?
Mac fanboys aside, most of us realised that the Macbook Air was a crystallisation of everything that Apple does – it was an archetypal Apple product. The ridiculous price, the underperforming components, and lack of features, but OH SO PRETTY! That’s why I’m a little nervous that Dell are trying to emulate the machine.
The New York Times, after noticing a few ‘Adamo’ trademark filings, did some digging on Google and eventually confronted Dell’s vice president in charge of consumer sales and marketing, Michael Tatelman, asking him if there was an Air-like product in store. Prototype Macbook Air from mid-2007 surfaces on eBay
I can’t make up my mind whether Macrumours forum member Brett33 is lucky or not. He bought an ‘as is’ Macbook Air off eBay, and it showed up with a black aluminium base and no ‘Macbook Air’ written on the bezel of the display. On further investigation, Brett discovered that it was a very early prototype of the device, built in May 2007.
The laptop was running a build of OS X 10.5, and the device was produced six months before it was announced to the public. It’s rather unusual to see one of these prototypes in the wild, given how secretive Apple is as a company. If I were Brett, I’d stick it straight back on eBay at double the price.
