And I mean super slim. Announced at Macworld today, the MacBook Air is 0.76 inches at its thickest point, with Steve Jobs rejoicing in its ability to fit inside an envelope (rest assured, early adopters, that’s not how Apple plans to ship the device to consumers).

Apple intros new Mac Pro: eight processor cores, twice the performance of before
Nothing’s really going to eclipse Apple’s iPhone announcement at Macworld last year, which clashed delightfully with CES 2007. Yet Apple has chosen, a week ahead of Macworld, to push out a new, high-performance Mac Pro.
Using two of Intel’s 45 nanometer Quad-Core Xeon 5400 processors running at up to 3.2 GHz, the newly designed system boasts up to twice the performance of the previous Mac Pro — and that was no sluggard.
Other notable inclusions are up to 4TB of internal storage, ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card with 256MB as standard, up to 32GB of memory, PCI Express 2.0 graphics slot, support for the latest generation of graphics cards from NVIDIA, and the power to drive up to eight 30-inch displays at once.

Finally, iPhone US launch date announced: Friday 29th June
Those who haven’t been attending the iPhone pre-launch party (and why not? Don’t tell me you don’t care) may not be aware quite how many rumours have been surrounding the date that Apple’s first smartphone will launch in the US.
While Apple rumours are nothing unusual, iPhone hype has been so strong that it seems as if every day in June has had a believable reason attached for Apple dropping the iPhone into AT&T stores.
Admittedly, journalist’s cousins overhearing junior AT&T staff talking about a release date isn’t hugely confidence building, but it hasn’t stopped the stories being published.
Anyway, this is just a long-winded way of reiterating what the title of this article has already made perfectly clear: Apple has officially announced the day that the iPhone will be available to buy in the States.
Friday 29th June.
