Sony doubles capacity of Memory Stick Micro (M2) to 8GB

Memory cards aren’t very exciting, but they are pretty important, so it’s good news for mobile users that Sony has doubled the capacity of its Memory Stick Micro (M2) cards to 8GB.

Sony claims the 8GB card will allow mobile device users to store over 5,000 fine quality five megapixel photos, over 2000 MP3 songs, or over 88 hours of high quality MPEG4 video…

Kingston Technology are probably not in it for love, but they’ve announced the release of a special edition “Black and White” Mobile Memory Kit, featuring a 1GB microSD card preloaded with a selection of Ricky Martin music, video and mobile phone wallpapers, plus a USB reader.

Panasonic racing SanDisk to the 32GB SDHC memory card prize

The ‘world’s first’ 32GB SDHC memory card has been given a launch date of April, with more details confirmed.

Panasonic claims it’ll have the fastest SDHC speed classification of 6, can store 12 hours of HD video at 1440 x 1080i, four hours of 1902 x 1080i and 12,320 10-megapixel photos.
