Apple patent hints at TiVo-style podcast customisation
Apple has filed a patent concerning its plans for next-generation podcasts, or as it calls it, ‘Creation, Management, and Delivery of Personalized Media Items’. Gotta love those patent titles, eh? And it’s about as murky in the actual description:

Maybe it’s because I’m feeling nostalgic (caught Danger Mouse and Top Cat on daytime telly today) and charitable, but here’s another story that caught my eye today: Mr Men and Little Miss celebrity charity podcasts.
Six of the UK’s favourite celebrities — Tony “Time Team” Robinson, Joanna “Ab Fab” Lumley, Wendy “Pauline Fowler” Richard (shall I stop this now?), Neil Fox, Ben Shephard, and John Simm — will record a Mr Men or a Little Miss story podcast in order to raise money for the Variety Club.

UK Podcasters Association allies with AIM to legitimise use of independent music in podcasts
The UK Podcasters Association, set up in May last year, has reached an agreement with the UK-based Association of Independent Music (AIM) to allow its members preferential, legitimate, access to AIM’s podcast licence.
This means that UK podcasters will gain unlimited access to full-length music tracks from the likes of Paul Weller, Bloc Party, Mylo, Basement Jaxx, Stereophonics, The Killers, and many thousands more, and be able to use them freely in their own podcasts.
