PSP firmware 3.70 arrives with hot new features including, er…
Okay, so there’s rarely dancing in the streets at the arrival of a firmware update for PSP, so 3.70 shouldn’t be criticised for being a trifle underwhelming.
New features include the ability to listen to music while browsing photos, custom themes support, a scene search during UMD movie playback (for all those users who watch UMD movies. Both of you.) and custom button assignment during Remote Play. It’s an evolution, not a revolution, kids. And custom themes do sound cool.

Sony pitching PSP's non-gaming features with GPS satnav and Sky TV downloads
We’ll have to start filing PSP stories under ‘personal media players’ rather than ‘gaming’ soon, such is Sony’s determination to expand its handheld’s non-gaming capabilities.
We wrote yesterday about its Go!Messenger VoIP project with BT, but Sony has also just unveiled plans for a satnav add-on, as well as on-demand TV downloads from Sky.
Hack allows Nintendo DS games to be played on the Sony PSP
Modders have been lifting their game recently – the past week has shown a NES emulator on the iPhone, a 360 mod which allowed the Wiimote to be used when playing Halo 2, and of course the Optimus Prime Transformers PC case mod which pleased me to the point of almost commissioning someone to create one for me. Oh, ok, a Megatron PC case mod, but still….
