Vodafone keeps BlackBerry Storm hopefuls hanging on with lure of free handset competition

As we’re still waiting for the BlackBerry Storm to launch in the UK, Vodafone has decided to tease hopefuls with a competition to win one of RIM’s elusive smartphones.

Of course, it’s all a big marketing ploy. As more and more mobile phones are announced way before they’re launched, it gives companies a chance to build up a nice fat mailing list of impatient consumers…

BlackBerry Javelin: Picture and basic details leaked online

It’s tough being a BlackBerry fan. You just get over the excitement that the BlackBerry Bold can be yours on Orange and T-Mobile and then you discover leaked pictures of future BlackBerry devices.

Reports online suggest the BlackBerry Javelin is due out sometime next year, along with the Thunder. You can tell that the photograph is both leaked and official because it has the word “CONFIDENTIAL” stamped across it…

BlackBerry Bold coming in September: T-Mobile stakes first claim

T-Mobile claims it will be the first UK operator to offer the handset, offering decent and improving national 3G support, thanks to a radio access network sharing deal the company has done with 3 UK.

The Bold includes integrated GPS, Microsoft Office document editing, expandable memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and two megapixel camera (see full specifications and a comparison with the iPhone 3G.)…

Microsoft and RIM jump into bed together, offer Windows Live services for BlackBerry phones

Research In Motion has been extremely busy this balmy day, first announcing the Bold 9000 smartphone, and now a collaboration with Microsoft allowing for Windows Live services to be used on BlackBerry handsets.

Whilst BlackBerry phones have an IM service already, it’s rather limited as you can only talk with other BlackBerry owners. This new agreement between the two giants means BlackBerry users can enjoy MSN Messenger…

Comparison of RIM's BlackBerry Pearl 8110, Curve 8310 and Bold 9000 smartphones

The BlackBerry 9000 was officially announced by Research In Motion this morning, and within minutes I was on the phone to my mobile contract provider, arranging the return of the Pearl 8110 I’d just ordered. Even though the 9000 won’t be out until Summer, it’s still worth waiting for, in my opinion.
