World's smallest PC unveiled – the teeny, tiny, Compulab fit-PC Slim
“Honey, have you seen my PC?” “Did you check down the back of the sofa?”
That’s the refrain that’ll echo through the home offices of suburban Britain in the near future if this tiny, tiny PC takes off. This PC, no bigger than the palm of your hand, actually has surprisingly reasonable specs behind it. A 500MHz AMD Geode processor, upto 512MB of RAM, ethernet, Three USB ports, Wifi and a 60GB hard drive are available at maximum spec. Oh, and it runs Linux, obviously, though Windows XP is an option…
Panasonic launching small "Micro Four Thirds" Lumix DMC-G1 SLR camera this October
The upcoming Lumix DMC-G1 is a proper SLR, only engineered using some kind of shrink-ray technology (the new Micro Four Thirds system) to make it 27 percent smaller than existing SLRs, like the Lumix DMC-L10.
Plus it only weighs 385 grams – the equivalent of 10 four-finger Kit Kats, and manages to pull off 12.1megapixels. Here’s what it looks like. And yes, there is a pink one for the ladies.

Optoma EW330 – Smallest widescreen projector in the world… EVER!
This is the Optoma EW330, which I had the pleasure of seeing in the flesh (or, I suppose, in the plastic) this morning. Although it’s tiny (the smallest widescreen projector in the world, for the moment), it’s remarkably powerful, throwing 2200 Lumens out, which should be more than enough to see clearly in a well-lit environment like an office or a meeting room.
Loc8tor Lite – smaller, lighter and cheaper
Loc8tor has appeared on these pages many times and was reasonably well-received back in a 2006 review – although the ‘bulk’ of the handset was a concern. And that concern seems to have been taken on board with Loc8tor Lite.
